Can I do it?

Found this free pattern Ravelry. After my baby knits, I just might have to make this for myself.

It's my space, and I'll write what I want to

When I started this blog 2.5 years ago (yes, it's been that long), I really wanted it to be a space where I told you about the things that interest me, what I was doing in my free time (because you really don't want to hear about my work life and even the trials and tribulations everyone goes through with life), and my crafts. I want to give you pictures, funny stories, and videos of my sister doing the Hot Dog Dance. For the most part I've tried to stay away from rambling on and on about the injustice of the world with that big monster that sits on my back everyday looking uglier as time goes on. Sometimes that monster gets so heavy, it's a wonder I don't have severe scoliosis from the weight of it. But there's good news: there's a pill in the works to lessen the burden of that monster, name: MS. It's about freaking time! I can't tell you how much I dread the 9 o'clock hour every day, stabbing myself with a needle in hopes that I'll always be able to walk. I'm tired of the lumps, bumps, bruises, and sore red patches that grace my arms, thighs, abs, and hips. I'm tired of that moments hesitation before pushing the button on the auto injector for the stick, preparing myself for the inevitable pain. I'm tired of seeing my own blood sometimes drip out of me because I gave my shot too close to a veiny area. I'm tired of searching for areas that aren't already healing from the week or even three weeks before. I'm tired of accidently touching an area that's still sore, or worse, husband giving me a hug or a swat on the backside only to feel sorry for hitting a sensitive area. I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired. And I'm just an amatuer at this.

It's hard work staying positive. But the future will be much brighter if we do, and hey, you just might catch someone doing the Hot Dog Dance in the meantime.

Sweater completed!

First ever sweater knitted. Girlfriend is so cute in it! Only problem is is that she won't be able to wear it much longer seeing how the neckband come out a little small. I'm surprised it fit over her head at all. I thought about reknitting it so it was looser. But how cute is she?! My faith in my knitting prowess is secure. I shall proceed with enthusiastic precaution. I can't take credit for knitting the hat she's wearing, but I did buy it for her!

Forgive my snap judgements

I'm getting to that age where I'm thinking how I'll raise my children. This is probably due in most part to all the people around me having babies—co-workers, friends, and definitely the family. I catch myself thinking, "I will never allow my child to do that" or "My child will do this." Forgive me. I've fallen trap to that mistake all future parents make: judgement. If I can learn anything from these people in my life that already have kids is getting advice and just an keeping an open mind. Kids aren't robots. They've got lots of personality that can't always be managed within the confines of what we think is right or wrong. Rather, both parent and child are learning.

So to all you parents out there, good job. You really don't get enough credit.

Knitting projects update

Almost done on baby sweater. At the most complicated part. Pictures coming soon. Have faith. And wish me a hell of luck. Neck and armbands. Say what?

Baby booties: One down, and three to go. No, they're not for a dog, but rather two babies. I think the wait will be worth it. I think.

I spy monkeys in the tree, part 2

I've never understood the thrill of climbing a tree. The climb is rough, the seat uncomfortable, and the end is just painful. Apparently, from a young age, we love the thrill of the climb.

Note: What didn't get filmed in this video is Jamie diving into Jon's arms when he wasn't ready. Everyone is okay. No children were harmed in the making of this video. I think Jon's nerves might be worse for wear though.

I spy monkeys in the tree, part 1

I'm finally getting around to posting more of my family videos from Missouri. It's a wonder that someone didn't get hurt.

My nephew LB

Here's LB kicking up a workout while his daddy (yup, that great sounding voice is his daddy) talks to him. I'm not sure which is better: LB or his daddy. Either way, they're both cute.
