I've decided to come back to the world of blogging. I've spent months soul searching about it. Do I blog? Am I oversharing? Who cares to read what's happening in my life? Does blogging make my ego look fat? In this time, I've journaled. A lot. And it's still something I hope to do. There's something about the old-school form of taking pen to paper, not worrying about adding pictures but letting your words describe what's going on in your life. Your words are your pictures. Sure I condense it down more than I would if I were blogging because I am prone to writer's cramp, but I choose those big moments of what's going on, not currently standing in line at Walmart and here's a picture of it. Although, that's sometimes fun too. But I miss this too. It's a little more creative.
What am I coming back to? I'm not sure yet. My organized brain wants to put together a blog calendar, schedule posts, do projects, take pictures, but the other part of me wants to not miss enjoying little moments because I'm trying too hard to capture them on this blog.
Anywho, I'm coming back, if you care. Next week my sister from Oklahoma comes to visit. We're bound to get into trouble (wine) and have fun (more wine). Also, catch my world in pictures or in 140 characters.

Maternity leave to-dos
I've been thinking of things to keep me occupied when the baby is napping and I'm looking for something to do. These will probably yeah, right, but it's still fun to think I might do something other than feed, burp, and change poo everyday. A first time mom can dream.
1. Read a couple books. Not sure what yet.
2. Organize the office.
3. Knit, good woman, knit. I want to knit: Chewy a simple garter stitch blanket, cowls, fingerless gloves, and maybe this delicious sweater.
4. Go thrifting.
5. Journal.
6. Blog more. Hopefully not just of the kid.

Facebook pressure
Sure, I blog. I enjoy it. It's a litte space where I can tell you what's going on in my life, maybe post some pretty pictures, and possibly write something inspirational. Wax on and on about my yoga path. Share with you my recently found music loves. But apparently, blogging is not enough. I'm told I need to get on Facebook. I've been repeatedly asked if I'm on Facebook.
Here's my concern: Recently, it's come to my attention that because of what I do professionally, I'm easy to find. (Go ahead and Google me.) People know my name, especially since it's very unique. A conversation during knitting group came up about how the professional self and social self need to be one on Facebook, because it's not just your friends looking you up anymore, it's your coworkers, your would-be employers, your church. Anyone. You have to watch what you say and what kind of persona you put out there. And I have a hard time practicing self-restraint. Not that I would go crazy and post obscene pictures of myself.
So I'm debating. Weighing whether I want to add yet another thing to monitor, where, unlike this blog where I have a certain amount of anonymity, I'd have to monitor my actions. But everyone seems to be doing it.

In need of inspiration
I'm supposed to be writing. And not in this favorite little space of mine. Real writing. For work. By day, I'm a magazine editor for Sound & Video Contractor (SVC), millimeter, and Digital Content Producer. I'll have been at this job for four years in July. In that time, I'm gone from strictly an editor to writing and becoming more involved with SVC's industry. Some days, I really love my job and how far I've come in my position. Some days, I really hate my job and wonder why I even want to write in the first place. I think it comes down to the fact that if I ever want to go to another job, I have something to show for it. Most editing position require that you write, which wasn't something my current job required. Now I know why: It's hard to find the time to write! Which is why I'm writing on my days off, trying to find some motivation and inspiration to write about the video and sound systems at a casino theater. If only I could make money laying around blogging all day. If only.
