My new haircut

I've gone pixie again. I was this time last year, and I did it for the very same reason this time: yoga. It's really been annoying me to have any hair in my way while practicing. I did my hair on Friday (something I never do anymore) just to see if I was ready to make yet another plunge in the pixie do world. Seems I was. However, I kinda like before picture. That's even two-day-old hair. I love long hair. I think it's sexy, but there's something to be said for the ease of short hair. I need to learn how to style it though. It's been a while.

I hate to brag, but...

I'm responsible for this photographic genius.

A three-day weekend means

A three-day weekend means that my Saturday is actually my Friday. It means three-hour long naps. It means a nice soak in the tub before climbing into bed all exhausted. But what it really means: a third day to do all those things you said you would do over the weekend.

On my third day I have accomplished: a yoga class (morning yoga is the best. I even spent some time after class getting to know my lovely yoga instructor Emily, who's pregnant and even more lovelier.); gone to Hobby Lobby to find the knitting needles I need, only to not find them and took Capricious' advice to look at Jo-Ann's; gone grocery shopping (without a list, drat); the liquor store to buy champagne for mimosas for my knitting get-together on Thursday; and made the blog rounds. I still need to: put away the dishes in the dishwasher, wash dishes, pick up the kitchen table, clean the bathroom, and oh yeah, knit. I might even try to get in a couple more yoga classes this evening. It all depends if I can tear myself away from my friendly M&Ms hanging out with me and get busy.

Three-day weekends mean I feel more accomplished.

Must knit

Saw these on Etsy and I totally want to make these. I wonder if it's a bad thing to have more than one knitting project going on at the same time. I'm already in the throes of knitting a special something for my new niece Abby.

There and back again

Home from my week-long stay with my sister. I was so sad to leave. Leave the smiles, the hugs, the giggling, the newborn snuggle loving, the Thomas-watching (Okay, maybe not so sad about that). I'm was also glad to be home and see Jonathan. I missed him so much. He bought me flowers and candy. Guess I was missed too. The week was a success. Baby Abby is a little charmer. She loves to be held close and rocked—not to mention she loves to eat. Not sure Mom got much rest with Abby being so hungry. AJ has gotten so big, and so independent. I can't decide who I'll miss most, but I guess I don't have decide. I love em all so much. I'm so lucky to be able to have spent time with the little family. Not sure when I'll be able to see them again. Good thing there's Skype! Now I need to make plans to see my new nephew. I'm a busy aunt!

What vacation?

I'm being pseudo mommy for the week while Capricious recovers from having her cutest of a thang daugher (aka Girlfriend). AJ has been heaps of fun. We've pretended to talk on our cell phones very adult-like: how's the weather? cold. whatcha doing? me talk. how you doing? i'm fines all around. We've watched hours of Thomas (unfortunately, I have a head full of songs that I would rather not have). We've created cars out of suitcases and block carts. We've perfected our choo choo and vroom vroom noises. We've played trains and painted pictures. We've had picnics on the floor. We've taken pictures. We've danced. We've changed clothes and taken naps. And I'm exhausted. And yet, I know after this week is over, I'll miss him more than ever and want to go back in time. And possibly want to take a real vacation after my vacation. Being pseudo mommy is hard work. But very very satisfying and rewarding. Do you hear that: That could be the makings of a baby itch. Better grab the calamine.

The sweetest thing
